Concón, Chile | Travel

There are so many great places to explore around Viña, one of my favorites are the sand dunes in Concón. I went with a couple of friends one afternoon after class. Though the hike up was somewhat difficult, the view was definitely worth it. Once we got to the top we noted there was an island on the other side. I found a path down and yelled, "If usually don't hike, don't follow me!" as I made my way down the large hill. We spent the rest of our time there on the edge of the island enjoying the wind waves.

This was the island on the other side of the sand dunes. 

The Island was a memorial for fishermen that died out at sea.

We made our way down the rocks to get as close to the ocean as possible (sorry mom).

The worst part about climbing down to the island was hiking back up the sand dunes. It was as if we were climbing up a wall. 

Since we enjoyed the dunes so much, we returned on a less cloudy day to watch the sunset.
